Testing HBlogger
Since I'm just farting around, I thought I'd try posting via hblogger. So far it's OK, but there's a lot of room for improvement.

Is This Thing On?
Mic check... *whew* *whew* Is this thing on?
As I was sitting here just now working on something for a client and decided to take a peek at the Director's Log to see if there were any comments posted here. There weren't any, which kind of got me to wondering...
Does anyone read this weblog?

Upgrade to 3.01D
I just upgraded MoveableType to version 3.01D. Clearly it's still a developer's release because there wasn't a lot of handholding. :)
Anyway, it looks like everything is working just fine. Although, please post a comment to make sure that everything is working properly.

Good News Everyone!
In the immortal words of Professor Hubert J. Fransworth, "Good News Everyone..." It looks like we may have a meeting space for August's meeting. It's a little premliminary, which is why I'm not posting this on the main news page, but it looks like CompUSA will allow us to use their facilities for August.
This probably won't become a permanent home, but I look forward to having a new place to try. I expect that we'll have different people show up since we'll be further south. No matter what. It will be interesting.

Light At The End Of The Tunnel
After more patience than I thought I had in me, my buddy Dan gave me a navigation solution! It's beyond my wildest dreams. Instead of just giving me a snippet of PHP code to work with, he actually wrote a complete .NET Application That's right, I now have a complete application that generates the PHP code needed to handle all of my navigation needs. :O
There's a few small tweaks needed to be done in the app, but it's working and ready for implementation. I simply enter the rules and the type of output that I want and this little app creates the PHP file that I can use as an include on all my pages. It's ULTRA SWEET and I'm blown away with what it does. It goes WAY beyond what I had been begging for. I know that beggars can't be choosers, but this is just blows my mind.
So I guess I need to get the lead out and get to building the navigation so that I can finish the redesign!

Had To Cancel The Meeting
I hated to do it, but unfortunately, I had to cancel the July meeting this month. I received an e-mail from the guys at First Data Systems saying that their building was under going renovations and that there was no way they could host the meeting. This is one of the first times that this has happened, so it's hard to complain when you've had close to 4 years of spotless meeting space. We're truly blessed to have such a fantastic meeting room in which to hold our meetings.
Unfortunately, we're going to be unable to hold our August meeting there as well. This is the first time that I've had to find a meeting location since the start of the group. Our first space was donated by a member and when we out grew that space, another member offered First Data Systems and we've been there ever since. In all my dealings with other PUGs (through InterPUG) the one thing that I always stress as one of the most important things to secure is meeting space. It's the biggest hurdle a PUG typically faces, so the sooner this can be addressed the better. Well now we're faced with the challenge of finding a temporary meeting space for August.
However it looks like we already have a possible location! In talking on Saturday during our informal Chat, one of our members thinks he may have a lead on using the training room at the Brentwood/Cool Springs CompUSA. That would make for a GREAT meeting location and if it works out, we may even consider making it our permanent location. Of course that's assuming that the meeting space works for us and that they'll have us. :P
