Introduction

NPU-G is located Northwest of downtown Atlanta

and contains 11 neighborhoods and 3 industrial areas. These neighborhoods and industrial areas include Atlanta Industrial Park, Chattahoochee, English Park, Brookview Heights, Lincoln Holmes, Bolton Hills, Monroe Heights, Scotts Crossing, Carver Hills, West Highlands, Almond Park, Carey Park, Inman Yards, and Rockdale. The area is encompassed by Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway to the South, Perry Boulevard to the North, the Chattahoochee River and Cobb County to the West, and the Norfolk-Southern railyard to the East.

The Mission of Neighborhood Planning Unit-G (NPU-G) is to engage our citizens in order to promote neighborhood preservation, public safety, neighborhood beautification, and civic improvements.

To provide for the health and wellness, education of the people in the City of Atlanta by helping to preserve the state’s greenspace infrastructure, protecting its most valued natural and cultural resources, and creating opportunities for high-quality outdoor recreation while, increasing property values, spur the local economy, combat crime, and protect citizens from environmental impact.

To ensure communities that participate in sport and recreation develop strong social bonds, are safer places and the people who live in them are generally healthier and happier.
