April 2006 ArchivesComputer Outlook Podcast AvailableLast Thursday was the monthly “Palm Lifestyles” theme show on Computer Outlook. NPUG Director, Michael Ashby was the co-host. The show’s guests were Chris Belvins of Intel and Noel Grover, President of VoiceIt Technologies. Chris talked about the Treo 700w and how it’s powered by an Intel chip. It’s this chip that allows the 700w to do all the cool things that it does.Noel discussed his company, VoiceIT Technologies, and their line of products - VoiceNavIt, VoiceSecureIt and VoiceDialIt. What is interesting about VoiceIT is that not only do they have a nice suite of voice enabled mobile software, but they are also a platform in which other developers can build on. Show notes for this episode can be found at this link, and the .mp3 file can be found at this link. April 27, 2006 @ 09:09 AMApril Meeting CancelledGiven the tornado damage on Friday, it looks as if we have no choice but to cancel this month’s meeting. It’s hard to say what condition the Goodlettsville Branch Library is in, but given the extent of the damage in Goodlettsville and Gallatin, it doesn’t look good. So we’ll be pushing the April topic to our May meeting. We’ll be back at our regular meeting space at the Edmondson Pike Branch Library on the 13th of May. We hope that all of our members are safe and our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in Middle Tennessee during this trying time. [Google Map] Will that be a bit of a drive for most of our members? Sure, but it’ll be a welcome relief for our members that live north of Nashville and drive down south for every other meeting. So we hope that everyone will take the short drive to Goodlettsville this Saturday. As always, we’ll have tons of prizes, tons of good information and tons of fun. Hope to see you there!
