In today’s meeting, we gave away two free tickets for Cumberland River Charters “Blue Heron” Nature Crusies. There were two other tickets on hand for sale and thanks to the generous nature of fellow member Jon Welty, we ended up auctioning the remaining too tickets and raised $41 dollars!
What is all this money being raised for? Well, our Director, Michael Ashby, is participating in the 11th Annual MS Bike Tour: Jack & Back. Michael will be joining 700 other cyclists in the jack Daniel’s MS 150 Bike Tour - the tour that will benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Michael is riding for Kathleen Cullen, a friend who works for the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, who was diagnosed with MS about 12 years ago.
NPUG has always been and will continue to be a completely free organization and rarely do we ask for money. However, with the kick-off of the raffle today, Michael has asked fellow NPUG members to consider donating to this cause. His goal is to raise $500 and every dollar helps - even a donation of $5 goes a long way.
