Meeting Summary

Just because the whistle blows at 5pm doesn’t necessarily mean that our work day is over. With today’s mobile lifestyle, demands of the office mean that “work” can happen anywhere. Luckily, your Palm OS device can help you meet these demands and help you do it with ease. With the right software, you can make working away from your desk a day at the beach!

This month, we’ll walk you through your software options when it comes to making your office mobile. We’ll examine how to compose, edit and save native Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and even Microsoft Project files all from your mobile device. In addition we’ll review the various Adobe PDF solutions out there as well.

And what would a topic of “mobile office” be if we weren’t on the road ourselves? That’s right, NPUG goes “On-The-Road” this month to the Goodlettsville Public Library! We’re taking a small drive up North this month and we hope that you’ll do the same. This is the first of two meetings that we’re holding in different locations around Greater Nashville.

1. Welcome & Announcements
After welcoming everyone to the meeting, we give a quick update on what’s new with the user group. This include membership, web site updates, where our geocache bug tracker is, etc.

2. What’s Happening In Palm OS
Each month we cover everything that’s happened over the past month with Palm OS. We discuss the handhelds, new cool software and what to look for in the future.

3. Mobile Office
This month, we’ll walk you through your software options when it comes to making your office mobile. We’ll examine how to compose, edit and save native Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and even Microsoft Project files all from your mobile device. In addition we’ll review the various Adobe PDF solutions out there as well.

4. General Discussion and Q&A
With the time remaining, we open up the floor for general discussion and answer any questions you may have.

6. After The Meeting
For one-hour following the end of the meeting, Palm OS experts will be on hand to address any specific questions you may have, or troubleshoot any technical support issues. It’s one-on-one time where you can get the answers to just about any Palm OS issue.
