Meeting Summary

Video on your Palm? Yep, that’s right! Your Palm OS device can do a lot with video. From watching TV shows and movies, to being the life of the party with a funny video clip, or even just to entertain a child with their favorite cartoon, video is not as hard as it used to be. The best part is that it’s all in the palm of your hand.

It was a just a year and a half ago that we talked about putting movies on your Palm OS device. At that time video was somewhat hard to find and DVDs seemed to be the only real option. Boy have times changed!

Today you can legally download television directly to your computer and make it mobile with the click of a button. There’s a whole new wave of “clip media” through sites like Google Video and YouTube and BitTorrent is as popular as ever. Not only that, but now your mobile phone provider is even offering television directly to your phone.

Luckily, just as video content is easier to find, so have the tools to put them on your Palm OS device as well. We’re going to walk through the basics of making your video content mobile and we’ll be going beyond the bounds of Palm OS as well - so if you’re curious about video on the iPod here’s a great opportunity to see it in action.

TV, movies, clips, or home videos - making them mobile has never been easier and this month at NPUG we’ll show you how. The only limitation is your imagination and your SD card.
