Meeting Summary

Everyone talks about how fast-paced life is today and how it seems like there’s never enough time. Ever wonder why that is? Well, the answer is simple - we’re being asked to do more than ever before. Our responsibilities today are broader and more far-reaching than ever and the result is an ever-expanding task list that is bursting at the seams. Luckily for us, there appears to be a better way!

The book “Getting Things Done: The Art Of Stress Free Productivity”, by David Allen provides a method in which you can take control of your responsibilities and reduce your stress along the way. By focusing on working on the right task at the right time, not only will you get more done in a given day, you can lead a happier and more carefree life.

This March, we’ll walk you through the basic concepts behind the book, “Getting Things Done” and then show you how to apply those principles to your Palm OS device. In most cases, all you need is the built-in software, but we’ll also take a look at some of the more popular 3rd Party applications out there and how to use them the GTD way.

Agenda

1. Welcome & Announcements
After welcoming everyone to the meeting, we give a quick update on what’s new with the user group. This include membership, web site updates, where our geocache bug tracker is, etc.

2. What’s Happening In Palm OS
Each month we cover everything that’s happened over the past month with Palm OS. We discuss the handhelds, new cool software and what to look for in the future.

3. Getting Things Done
There’s no way we can cover everything there is to know with David Allen’s book “Getting Things Done: The Art Of Stress Free Productivity” in one meeting, but we will cover the basic concepts of the book and show you how to apply them using your Palm OS device. By the end of the meeting, you should have a general understanding of the process and if it’s right for you.

4. General Discussion and Q&A
With the time remaining, we open up the floor for general discussion and answer any questions you may have.

5. Giveaways
At the end of the meeting we have a random drawing for door prizes donated by our Sponsors. This month we’ll be giving away the following:

6. After The Meeting
This is a new feature we’ve started this year and it looks to be quite popular! For one-hour following the end of the meeting, Palm OS experts will be on hand to address any specific questions you may have, or troubleshoot any technical support issues. It’s one-on-one time where you can get the answers to just about any Palm OS issue.
