It’s hard to believe it, but this month the Nashville Palm Users Group turns 6 years old! We’ve been going strong since 1999 and we have no plans of slowing down. If anything, our meetings get better and better each year and this month’s meeting is no exception.
This month we’re going to take a look a Global Positioning Systems, or GPS for short. We’ll take a brief look at the history of GPS and then dive into how to use it either on a dedicated device, or on your PDA. In addition, we’re going to take a small field trip to find the NPUG Mini Me Cache!
In celebration of our birthday, we have over $1200 worth of giveaways - including the Mapopolis U.S. NavCard with Mobile Crossing Bluetooth GPS Receiver, courtesy of the fine folks at Mapopolis. The lucky winner of this prize will be able to turn their PDA or Smartphone into a GPS enabled device. How cool is that?
So come join us for the GPS demos, the giveaways, the good times and of course - the cake.

4. GPS
There are many ways to use GPS technology in our day-to-day activities. We’ll begin with a quick look at the history of GPS and how it works, then we’ll give an overview of the many different ways you can add this technology to your digital life.
5. GPS Field Trip
Now that we know more about what GPS is, we’ll demo the Mapopolis U.S. NavCard with Mobile Crossing Bluetooth GPS Receiver by going outside to find our NPUG Mini Me Cache. Luckily it’s close by, so no need to drive anywhere.
6. Cake & Giveaways
While we blow out the candles and enjoy a little birthday cake, we’ll be giving out the following giveaways:
