E-mail. For some folks e-mail is a fun way to interact with friends and family. For others it can be a nightmare of overwhelming floods of junk e-mail. Whichever camp you fall into, this month’s meeting will look at everything there is to do with e-mail and how you can make it a more efficient aspect of your computing life.
We’ll start focusing on the desktop and all the various ways in which you can manage your e-mail. POP3, IMAP, filtering, eliminating SPAM, security, you name it we’ll cover it. Oh and if any of those terms seem foreign to you, don’t worry, we’ll clarify everything. We will also cover how to get e-mail on your Palm OS device and what software is the best for doing just that.
But what meeting wouldn’t be complete without door prizes? This month is another banner month with tons of giveaways. From free Gmail accounts to tons of free software and even two free cases from PDASkins, everyone should go home with something from the meeting!
So set an appointment in DateBook for this Saturday to learn all about e-mail, ask any questions you like and go home with some free goodies!

4. E-mail On The Desktop
Although we mostly focus on Palm OS, there are times when we need to look beyond the handheld and to the desktop itself. With the topic of e-mail, we definitely need to. :) This month we’re diving deep into the issue of e-mail on the desktop. We’ll be reviewing the different types of e-mail accounts, what software is good and bad and even how to deal with SPAM (junk e-mail). There’s a lot more to e-mail than you think.
