Desktops

When I got a new monitor this year, I felt like I needed a new desktop to go with it. I searched and searched for a theme that I liked and unfortunately I couldn’t find anything. Then, one day when I was editing our site, I thought, “Hey, I kinda like our home page,” so I re-created the home page in Photoshop.

You may notice that the design doesn’t match our current web site. That’s because we changed our look in June 2000 to the way that you see it now. So, I created a new batch of desktops to match the new design.

Instructions
To use either of these desktops as your background, simply follow these directions:

  1. Download the file that matches your screen resolution. To find out what your screen resolution is, look in your Control Panel under Display\Settings.
  2. Uncompress the file. If you don’t have software for working with “zip” files, we recommend Stuffit, which you can download for free at http://www.stuffit.com/.
  3. Save the file in your “C:\Windows” directory. Your Windows directory maybe called something else, such as “Win98”.
  4. Go into Control Panel\Display\Background. Select the background or “Wallpaper” called “NPUG”, click O.K. and you’re done.

Please select the file for your correct screen resolution. You can choose from the following files:

NPUG 1999

NPUG circa 1999

NPUG 1999 - 2004
